Summer Members’ Meeting in historic Beverley

The YHACS  Summer Members’ Meeting will take place on Saturday 11th July in the beautiful historic market town of Beverley, East Yorkshire. Thank you to Beverley Civic Society for hosting us.

It will be held at Toll Gavel Church Hall, HU17 9AA (entry via rear entrance on Walkergate). There is no onsite parking but it is very central and an easy flat walk from the railway station and car parks. Summer Saturdays are busy in Beverley so it is advisable to arrive early or travel by train.

Beverley is an historic tourist destination with lots of options early arrivals:

  • The society is organising a Guided Town Centre Walk at 10.30am. This will be limited to 20 so please book early. Donations for a cystic fibrosis charity welcomed.
  • There is a choice of self-guided activities,  including the Civic Society’s Medieval and Elwell Paintings trails. Civic Society members will be on hand at the Tourist Information Centre to give advice and distribute trail guides (no need to book for this).
  • There are several indoor options for independent visits, including Beverley Minster, St Mary’s Church and the Champney Treasure House Art Gallery and Museum.

For lunch Beverley has an abundance of cafes, restaurants, pubs for you to choose from before moving on to Toll Gavel Church Hall for the YHACS members’ meeting, which starts at 1pm. The agenda will be distributed nearer the time.
